Update: Long Time, No See.
Hello!
Busy, Busy, Busy.

Banding love at Wychavon Festival of Brass
Apologies for being so quiet for the last month or so, it’s been a rather busy period as I have started a new job as a Primary Teaching Assistant, which I’m loving but has kept me quite busy. Also I had been preparing for the Wychavon Festival of Brass( which we played at the end of October), as well as playing a concert and completing a CD recording with Foden’s Youth band, all of which I will be writing about in the coming days, so be prepared for an influx of posts (you have been warned).
Audition News!

Royal Northern College of Music
Also I have been lucky enough to have been offered an audition on the 1st December with the Royal Northern College of Music, in the hope of securing a place to study there- something which I have always wanted to and never thought I’d actually have the guts to do- so I’m currently preparing for that, and I’ll be letting you know how I get on with my prep and the audition… when I get the chance.
Concert Opportunity

How could you resist coming to listen to this lovely lot??
Finally my wonderful band are playing our ‘Bold as Brass’ Autumn concert in Eccles Town Hall next Saturday and I am very lucky to have been chosen to play a solo- ‘The Way We Were’- which has given cause to learn to play in a style that is completely foreign to a player who is used to playing upright classical slow melodies- JAZZ! So I shall be notifying you on my adventures learning to master lip bends, grace notes and a cool-dude, laid back, whiskey-in-hand-with-shades-on style of playing (learned from watching countless Derek Watkins and Maynard Ferguson videos on YouTube) in the coming days as well. Let’s hope I can play with as much gusto and class that would rival Babs Streisand! It’s an absolutely fabulous programme with something in it for everyone, from music buffs, hip and trendy young people (I can’t believe I just used the phrase hip and trendy…let’s roll with it) to little wannabe bander toddlers! So if you’re one of the above then pop along to Eccles Town Hall this Saturday (21st November) at 7:30pm! Did I mention it’s FREE……and a trillion times better than X Factor! Just before I go…
Before I sign off I’d like to say a special thank you and hello to my new subscribers, I hope you enjoy my slightly sarcastic, determined and (hopefully) witty attempt to get brass bands to the attention of the masses…once I start becoming a little more regular with my posts…currently suffering from blog constipation- lots of ideas building up but a bit slow on the delivery…too much info? Sorry.
Toodle pip…for now!
