It's Not a Trumpet was born out of a simple idea: to share stories from the brass band world, challenge concepts to drive change and to create content that resonates with those who love our community.

However, I want the future of It's Not a Trumpet to go beyond simple storytelling - I want it to become a vehicle for action. I want to be able to create paid opportunities for our musicians and advocates to share their stories, as well as events that benefit the next generation of brass band musicians composers, conductors and more.

All of this comes at a cost. From the upkeep of the site to the cost of covering event tickets, travel and accommodation and the need to raise funds to put back into banding events and paid opportunities for our people.
