The Cooperation Band Announce Details for Beatson Cancer Clinic Charity Concert

Brass and Resilience: The Cooperation Band's Charity Concert for Beatson Cancer Clinic.

On Saturday 15th February, The Cooperation Band are hosting a concert that celebrates life, music and the resilience of the human spirit in support of Glasgow's Beatson Cancer Clinic. Under the direction of Katrina Marzella-Wheeler the band will present an evening of fantastic music to raise funds for cancer treatment and care.


John Wallace's Musical Journey

The concert is inspired by John Wallace, a well-known name in the world of brass bands. During his recent treatment at the Beatson, John found solace and creative expression in transcribing music, which now forms the core of this heartfelt programme.


A Concert Programme of Classics

The concert, entitled will showcase transcriptions of works by:

  • Dvořák

  • Rimsky-Korsakov

  • Wagner

  • Schuman


Alongside these transcriptions, the band will also perform Derek Bourgeois' Diversions - the set work for the Championship section at this year's Regional Championships. The concert aims to be a powerful testament to the transformative power of music and its ability to connect, heal and inspire.

Tickets are free, but donations will be accepted to support the work of Beatson Cancert Clinic.
