Buxton Contest Set to Move to Glossop in May 2026

The Buxton Festival contest is set to have a new home and a new name in 2026.
The North West Brass Band Association has confirmed that due to the venue in Buxton being unavailable for the requested date and to avoid clashes with other major banding events, the contest will be relocated in 2026.
The contest will now be hosted at Glossopdale School, Glossop on Sunday 10th May 2026 and will be known as the High Peak contest.
Speaking on behalf of the Association about the relocation of the contest, Richard Milton said:
“We are confident that the fabulous facilities at Glossopdale school will ensure a warm welcome and some excellent music making all day long!”
