Brass Bands England Launch New Youth Brass Festival

Brass Bands England Announce Youth Fest 2024

If you conduct or are a member of a Youth Band or you are passionate about supporting the next generation of brass band musicians - you're going to want to mark this date in your calendar.

Brass Bands England are launching a brand new non-competitive brass festival aimed at engaging and inspiring the younger generations of the banding community.

What is Youth Fest ?

Youth Fest aims to celebrate the sheer joy of participating in performing music by providing an exciting performing experience in an inclusive, non-competitive environment. The event is open to youth bands of all skill levels.

In Brass Band England's announcement, Chief Operating Officer, Sarah Baumann said:

"Youth Fest is open to young players of all abilities. In particular, it’s an ideal occasion for beginner school ensembles to experience a high-quality performance opportunity without the pressure of competition. It’s all about motivating young people to continue their brass journey!"

The inaugural event will take place on Friday 28th June at Barnsley Civic and it is FREE to enter! You won't have long to wait to submit your entry as applications open on Thursday 1st February 2024 via the BBE website. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Youth Fest Information Sessions

If you're thinking about taking part, it's important that you familiarise yourself with the aims and guidelines outlined in the Youth Fest Information Pack, which can be found here. Brass Bands England will also be holding Youth Fest online drop-in sessions on Tuesday 6th February at 3:45pm and Thursday 11th March at 3:45pm.
