Community Rallying Call to Support Beloved Brass Event

A major community fundraising effort has been launched to secure the future of the much-loved Brass at the Seaside festival, set to take place on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July 2026.
Held at the iconic St Anne's Bandstand, the event has grown into a standout celebration of brass band music in the North West. Brass at the Seaside offers fantastic opportunities, not only for the audiences to hear amazing music, but for local brass bands and young musicians to perform.
However, organisers have confirmed that traditional funding sources are unavailable this year, putting the festival at risk. If you're passionate about brass bands, local music and youth music - Brass at the Seaside needs your support.
How You Can Help
The newly-launched fundraising campaign, through crowdfunding platform Spacehive, aims to raise just over £7000 of vital funds to cover essential costs, including:
Expenses for participating bands
General running costs of the festival
Ensuring accessibility for audiences
Every little helps to keep the event alive.
Supporting Lancashire's Brass Band Tradition
The festival is delivered in partnership with Lancashire Music Service which plays a key role in supporting music-making and ensuring young people have access to music education across the region. Brass at the Seaside has become a flagship event in their calendar, offering performance for bands whilst bringing live music to the local community.
If the fundraising target is hit, the project will unlock additional backing from the Lancashire Sports and Community Fund, significantly boosting the overall budget and financial security for the event.
A Festival Worth Saving
Over recent years, Brass at the Seaside has grown into more than a series of performances. It is a celebration of community, music and the enduring spirit of UK brass banding.
If you are able, please consider donating to the crowdfunding here and/or share the crowdfunding link far and wide on social media to spread the word and save this fantastic local festival.
