Adjudication Panel Announced for Brass in Concert 2025

With just over three months left until Brass in Concert returns to The Glasshouse International Centre for Music on the 15th and 16th of November, Brass Bands England have announced the panel of adjudicators who will have the job of deciding who comes out on top!
This year's panel brings together an outstanding range of musical range of musical talent from across Europe, spanning conducting, composition, performance, programming and broadcasting.

About the Brass in Concert Adjudicators
Florent Didier is an award-winning French conductor, trombonist and educator. He led Paris Brass Band to multiple national victories and is currently principal trombone of the French Air Force Band. Internationally recognised, Florent has conducted in leading concert halls worldwide and was recently honoured as a Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture.
Benjamin Haemhouts is a Belgian conductor, composer and Artistic Director of CASCO Philharmonic and the Antwerp Spring Festival. Formerly a trombonist with Rotterdam Philharmonic and Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, he has composed over 100 works and held senior roles at Hal Leonard Europe. Benjamin is a member of the Music Commission of the European brass Band Association.
Jocelyne Moren is a renowned tenor horn soloist and educator from Switzerland. A 22-time solo and quartet champion, she spent two decades with Brass Band 13 Etoiles. Jocelyne is Vice-President of the Swiss Brass Band Association and sits on EBBA's Executive Committee. She is a dedicated youth tutor and frequently invited as a masterclass leader and guest soloist.
Sue Collier is the Artistic Director of Durham Brass Festival, where she has pioneered bold and inclusive programming that blends tradition with Modernity. With over 25 years in the live music industry, Sue has worked with major artists and promoters and helped shape festivals, such as 'Mouth of the Tyne' and 'Evolution'. She also mentors emerging talent through several national programmes.
Al Booth spent over 25 years at BBC Radio 2 as a producer and, later, as Editor of Specialist Music. She produced Listen to the Band, launched the Young Brass Soloist Award and oversaw flagship programmes and major events including, Glastonbury and the BBC Folk Awards. Now a university lecturer and event producer, Al returns to Brass in Concert after making her adjudication debut last year.
Anne Crookston is a celebrated conductor and adjudicator, whose brass band journey began in Scotland. A former baritone and Musical Director with Whitburn Band, she subsequently took up directorships with West Lothian Schools (2013), Bathgate Band (2014) and, most recently, Newtongrange Silver Band in 2021. She has judged contests across Europe and North America, including the European Youth Championship and the British Open - where she made history as the first female adjudicator. Anne is also an educator, service as Deputy Headteacher at St Margaret's Academy.

Audience Vote
It isn't only the adjudication panel that decides a winner; the ever-popular Audience Vote will return once more, giving those both in the room and watching online the opportunity to have their say and vote for the Audience's Winner.
Throughout the day, audience members will be able to pick up a special card to vote for their favourite band performance. The vote will open following the final band's performance.
